How to Change Hotspot Name on iPhone

Steps to Change Hotspot Name Quickly

Without further ado, let’s get into the steps on how to change your iPhone’s name. This, as we’ve seen, will change your hotspot name too.

Step 1: Open the Settings app and scroll down to General.

Step 2: At the top of the General page, tap on About and Name.

Step 3: Type in your new preferred device name and return to the About page.

Now, your hotspot name will change accordingly!

Besides just your personal hotspot, this new name will also appear in iCloud, AirDrop, and your computer. Since you’re changing your iPhone’s name, this is something you should keep in mind.

How to Change the Hotspot Password?

iOS doesn’t let you set up a personal hotspot without creating a password. If you want to change the password you set initially, go to Settings, Personal Hotspot, and Wi-Fi Password. You can also access the Personal Hotspot page from Cellular or Mobile Data

After you’ve clicked on Wi-Fi Password, you can type in a new password. It needs to be at least eight characters long and use ASCII characters. Remember, when you change your hotspot password, you will need to reconnect all connected devices.

First, open the Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of your iPhone. Touch and hold the network settings card, and under the Personal Hotspot icon, you’ll see how many devices are connected. If you feel like an unauthorized user is connected to your network, you can tap on it to stop sharing your connection.
